Flim Fest 2007

Every summer, Not A Tad Bad Flim Co. hosts a big showing of local movies and music on the South Shore of Massachusetts. Independent film makers, musicians, animators, and more come together to show off their talents in a night of entertainment, enlightenment, creativity, humor, and genuine fun. This year was no different, as Not A Tad Bad’s Flim Fest ‘07 was held on August 22 at the Beal House in Kingston. Not A Tad Bad, Gen Y Films, Imagavision, Rojhelio Studios, and more showed their creative talents as the night drew on.

An animation block showing off the talents of Nicole Caouette, Joseph Botsch, Ryan Murphy, and Matthew Sinclair was featured too. It was a good time and captivated audiences early on in the night, snagging them into their seats.

Francis/Drowning played a great set as well, as the Somerville rockers cranked some snazy tunes for the South Shore folks. Good alternative rock is always something to be appreciated. The night started a bit rough, but we prevailed. Virtually everything went as planned, sans a few short movies that were nixed at the last moment to allow for adequate playing time later on.

Ryan Murphy was awarded the Certificate of Awesometicity for his extraordinary efforts during the summer in helping complete virtually all the materials being shown. He was awarded shortly after “No Place Like Home” was premiered to a heavily satisfied audience.

People came from all corners of Massachusetts, be it the North Shore, Boston, Hanover, Marshfield, West Roxbury, and more. The mix mash of friends from years past and present was a great spectacle to behold. It seemed rather humorous that four hours was not enough time to fit all the materials we wanted to present, but oh well- more to show next time!

J. L. Carozza’s “Dream House” ended the night that built itself on comedy with a slasher/grind house vibe, separating itself from the consistently upbeat and humorously toned projects from earlier on. “Hip Hop, Cherry Pop” was an amazing success- receiving non-stop applause from the first credit until the final frame of the movie. We were on cloud nine for the rest of the night as people hailed the new flim “Hysterical,” “Unexpected,” and “Deeper than I’d expected it to be.”
